COVID-19 Update

The Maine Governor has issued an Executive Order to limit the effects of COVID-19. The order applies to short-term rental properties in the State of Maine and is effective until April 30, 2020 (end date may be extended).

We wanted to alert our partners to this order. Among other restrictions, the order suspends lodging operations including short-term rentals effective April 5, 2020. However, the order states that lodging can be provided for:

  • Children in Emergency Placements;
  • Persons at risk of domestic violence;
  • Homeless individuals; and
  • Health care workers or other workers deemed necessary to support public health, public safety, or critical infrastructure.

The order also mandates that travelers arriving in Maine, regardless of their state of residency, self-quarantine for 14 days to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. For more information on the COVID-19 response in Maine, please visit
